Members of CrossFit Mountain Island, THANK YOU for your amazing support during these difficult times! We have had many members reach out and ask what they can do to help. As most of you know, the gym is our family’s only source of income. We truly appreciate all of your kind words and understanding through this troubling time. As of tonight (3/18), we will be closing CrossFit Mountain Island’s physical location at 8416 Bellhaven Boulevard in accordance with Mecklenburg County’s Health Director’s orders (KEEP READING). According to county mandates, this is a mandatory closure until April 12th, 2020. As we are updated on timelines and requirements, we’ll continue to update all of you. But don’t worry, we have a plan. Keep reading. We don’t want you to lose this buffer of health and fitness that you have built. Staying as healthy and as fit as possible is going to keep YOU healthy, and allow you to take care of the people around you. We don’t want you to be stressed being at home, isolated, and maybe overwhelmed by kids being out of school. So, we’ll be delivering the following services and options for our members only. We’re going to let you all borrow equipment for at home workouts. Coty and Noelle will be at the gym tomorrow (Thursday 03/19) from 10:00-11:00am and again from 6:00pm-7:00pm to borrow one piece of equipment. No charge. We’ll be using that equipment for your at home workouts. Options will include kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, slamballs and jump ropes. Limit 1 piece of equipment per person. We’ll be in direct, personal contact with you all daily. On the same days you normally workout, you’ll be hearing from your coaches to make sure you know your workout, know how to do the movements safely, and are actually doing the workouts we prescribe and staying fit and healthy. Video coaching and in home personal training will also be available (yes, we’ll come to you). We’ll be hosting daily live facebook group calls and chats, group conference calls via Zoom, and doing fun, community and team building challenges with each other to help hold each other accountable and come out fitter on the other side of this virus that’s impacting all of our lives. What to expect and when? Tomorrow (March 19, 2020) Equipment pick-up 10am-11am AND 6pm-7pm Google form survey regarding what equipment you have access to, when you prefer to workout, etc. Phone call / texts from coaches to answer any questions or concerns Facebook live – Q&A @ 7:30pm (be sure to tune in!) Friday (March 20, 2020) Begin receiving your programming from your coach, and keep working out! We also encourage everyone to post in the facebook group and tag us on social media so that we can stay engaged with each other! Use the hashtag #StillClimbingTheMountain on instagram. Imagine all the friends you could inspire by posting your dedication to living a healthy lifestyle! We also think it would be a fantastic idea to try and get your spouses and kids involved in the workouts and challenges! We will continue to provide value to our CFMI community through daily workouts, on-line coaching, personal programming and delivery, social engagement, nutrition consultations, and accountability. We have an entire plan laid out to continue to provide services through these unknown times – whether our physical location is open or closed and for as long as we need to and are able. We are here for you. We’re doing everything in our creative power and physical ability to continue taking care of you all. That is our responsibility to you. Please, don’t hesitate to reach out via text or email to talk to us personally if you have questions, concerns or ideas! We’re open to any and all ideas and will do anything we can so long as it falls within what we’re allowed to do. This has the possibility to be a really great bright spot in some uncertain times. We’re excited for the opportunity to prove it to you. If you are able, we are asking you to please stick with us and keep your membership these next few months. Even if the gym physically closes, we still have bills to pay to keep the gym open and staff to take care of. We want to make sure that we will be in a position to re-open our doors as soon as this situation improves. There will certainly be some tough times ahead for us all, but we’re going through this together. As a community. There are a lot of small business that will be profoundly affected by this. Our members in the service industry have been affected. If you own a local small business, please reach out so that we can help support you through these times. Thank you for your support.
