Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, weddings, babies, house warmings, graduations. Every year, gift giving opportunities arise and for some reason we always get stumped on what to buy. Here are 10 ideas for your fit friend/family member/significant other.

1. Air Fryer

If you or your loved one is in to meal prepping, an air fryer is the ultimate game changer! Chop up some potatoes, toss them lightly in olive or coconut oil and herbs/spices, pop them into the air fryer at 390-400 degrees for 25-30mins. Open and toss once or twice every 10-15mins and you’ve got AMAZING tasting crunch potatoes.

Works great for fish, chicken, steaks, and vegetables too! You should try protein cookies in the air fryer 😉

You can find air fryers with the big drawer like this or some with stackable racks like the one Coty and I have. The stackable racks allow you to cook more than one food at once (very convenient!).

Mess free and no babysitting the stove/oven. Set and walk away while you make your yummy egg muffins for the upcoming week.

2. Lift Genie Thumb Tape

Every lifter needs thumb protection! Hook grip the barbell? Thumbs rip on pull-ups? Blisters from rowing? Protect your fingers from rips and tears without the burden of big gloves or sweaty hands with thumb tape. We love the brand Lift Genie the best. Flexible for more bend!

3. Rogue Jump Rope

Are you or your spouse/friend tired of borrowing the rope at the gym that’s too big or too small? Get your own custom jump rope from Rogue. They have handy videos to explain how to measure the length of the rope or call their customer service line for assistance. A rope that’s the right length and weight is sure to help with getting double unders!

4. Reebok Nano Xs

By far the most comfortable Nanos Reebok has ever made. Great for running, metconing, and lifting. Can be found in men’s and women’s colors/sizes.

5. Wrist Wraps

A lot of people have pain in their wrists while lifting overhead, pressing, and pushing. It doesn’t hurt to have a little extra support with these thicker wrist wraps. Easy and quick to wrap with velcro.

Stop digging in the used wrist wrap bucket at your gym. There’s something a little more sanitary about bringing your own personal wrist wraps to class.

*Can’t promise any bench press PRs with said wraps.

6. Knee Sleeves

Sold in singles. Make sure to order two if you need for both knees.

Whether you’re dealing with regular knee pain, recovering from an injury, or looking to prevent one, Rehband Knee Supports supply joint compression and warmth to promote better blood flow and reduce the direct strain on the knees during squats, Oly lifts, etc.

Also fantastic for wearing on your shins for extra protection on rope climb days!

7. Hypervolt Massage Gun

Worth every penny! Excellent for sore and stiff muscles to aid in recovery and mobility issues. Amazing customer service with the Hypervolt brand. If anything breaks, they will replace for free, no questions asked. Charge lasts forever.

8. Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are the easiest form of resistance if you don’t have access to weights. Use them for deadlifts, shoulder presses, chest flies, bicep curls, tricep extensions, banded side steps, and much more.

Stretch tight muscles and open stuck joints by attaching one end to a pole and letting the resistance pull against your muscles.

A must have for prehab/rehab, muscle activation, and recovery.

9. Hydro Flask

Make sure you’re getting a minimum of 80oz of water a day with easy access to water. I personally love my 40oz flask and cling to it daily.

Keep it by your side at work, on your commute to the gym/work/home, and at all times at the gym.

Goal: Bodyweight in ounces per day.

10. Food Scale

Stay on top of your nutrition with a simple food scale. Accurately keep track of macros by weighing food in grams or ounces.

I’ve discussed macros in detail in the following blog post: https://crossfitmountainisland.com/finally-macros-explained/

Need some place to start? Try the 800g Fruits and Vegetables Challenge. Measure out 800 total grams of fruits and vegetables per day. The more diverse, the better!
