What is it about “CrossFit” that has taken the fitness world by storm? Why has it become the worlds fastest growing and most successful vehicle for delivering health and fitness to the community? The answer to that question depends largely on who you ask, but there are common themes throughout.

For one, it’s because it is without question the most efficient and successful form of exercise for anyone that wants to lose fat, develop muscle definition, and feel better. When you do it the right way, not only will you look and feel better, but you’ll become apart of something bigger than yourself.

A community. A tribe. A village. We’re not meant to go through life alone, and that’s why CrossFit has become such a popular choice when it comes to getting healthy. It’s because you’re no longer in it alone, left to your own devices to figure out what exercises to do, or what diet is going to get you to your goals. You don’t have to worry about coming up with your own workout program or self-fueling your motivation to get results.

That’s what your coaches and your fellow members of your community are for. Your peers.
When you’re a CrossFitter, the only thing you have to worry about is showing up. Everything else takes care of itself.

I used to spend 2-3 hours a day at a big chain gym. Headphones in. Head down. When I wasn’t staring at myself in the mirror or trying to decipher the instructions on the machines, I was lost in my phone. Scrolling social media. Trying to find a workout program for the day. Reading about supplements I should be taking.

What I love about being a CrossFitter is the fact that everyday I workout, I’m participating with my people. My friends. Instead of listening to that hardcore playlist to keep me going, I spend time talking to my friends. We joke around and talk about what’s going on in each others lives. What we did this past weekend, or what we’re looking forward to next. We celebrate life accomplishments together. We’re there to support each other when life throws us curveballs. We’re becoming better human beings. Together.

It’s easy to discount or overlook the value in that. But let me tell you this. If you want to get healthier, fitter and change your life, you have to buy-in. It won’t happen if you keep yourself in the same box you’ve lived in for the past decade. If you have a goal of developing into a healthier and fitter version of yourself, you have to surround yourself with people that live and breathe health and fitness.

People that know the answers to the questions you’re trying to solve.

People that will say “do this” and then show you how it’s done.

People that will walk through your journey with you and pick you up when you fall.

People that will check in on you if they know you’re struggling.

People that expect to see you at the gym and will call you if you’ve got it on the back-burner.

That kind of accountability only comes from community. And that’s what keeps you coming back.

CrossFit is, without question, the best vehicle for fitness and health. There is not a methodology that holds a candle to “constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.” There is not a program in the world that is developing professional coaches to the level of the CrossFit Seminar Staff. There is not a better source of independent education or certifications that comes close to what CrossFit delivers to it’s coaches and the general public alike.

CrossFit is a lifestyle. That is why so many people identify with it so strongly, and share it with such passion. Because when you give CrossFit a chance, it changes your life.
